Why Total Wellness Centre

Total Wellness Centre's Chinese Doctors are highly experienced,
Fertility Acupuncture professional and caring people. Our Doctors of Chinese Medicine have at least eight years of traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) education; four year bachelor degrees in acupuncture, TCM schooling and conventional Western medical schooling, followed by at least four years of post-graduate education. Each of our Doctors has attained advanced Degrees in acupuncture and Chinese Herbs and prescriptions. In addition, our Doctors of Chinese Medicine have at least 25 years of experience each.

Our doctors are committed to high quality medicine and patient care. Our Doctors work collaboratively within our clinic, sharing over 150 years of collective experience to help each other solve difficult medical problems. We also work collaboratively with Western Conventional fertility clinics, having several of our clinics directly within Western fertility clinics.

Our Doctors specialize in both Acupuncture and custom Herbal prescription formulas (raw herbs, concentrated powder herbs and 'patent' herbal pills). The ability to properly prescribe herbs requires many years of education and experience. Prescribing patent herbal pills (pre-bottled commercial formulas) is not a substitute for proper custom herbal prescriptions. There is currently no education program in Canada teaching raw herbal prescriptions. Unfortunately, locally trained TCM practitioners are often lacking this vital component of traditional Chinese medicine.

Acupuncture can be performed in Ontario by various allied health professionals including Chiropractors and Doctors. It is our belief that complete education and understanding of traditional Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, herbs, and diet, is essential to proper patient treatment. Weekend and intensive courses offered to other health care practitioners provide inadequate education and skill to properly assess and treat patients.
