Traditional Chinese Medicine and Immunological Disorders

An immunological disorder is a dysfunction of the immune
Endometriosis and Acupuncture system. There are several ways to characterize theses disorders; by the component(s) of the immune system affected, determining if the immune system is overactive or under active, and by distinguishing between condition that are congenital or acquired.


The most common immunological disorder affecting fertility is female sperm allergy. Symptoms of a mild sperm allergy may include itching, redness and irritation of the genitals. More severe symptoms can include hives and breathing difficulties which most likely occur post-intercourse.


Sperm allergy symptoms and the full allergic reaction can contribute to infertility. In severe cases, a sperm allergy can cause a woman’s immune system to produce antibodies to the proteins in her partner’s sperm. Those antibodies can attack and destroy the sperm.


Many women with immunological factors hostile to pregnancy have been effectively treated with TCM prescriptions for diet, herbs, and acupuncture. When an acupuncturist treats the root problem, the body often corrects the immunological markers itself.
