What can I do about my adult acne? Did you know that Acupuncture and TCM treats adult acne very well! Conventional treatments are limited (see link above). Why not treat an effective alternative?!

Did you know?

… that you do not need a referral from a family doctor (GP) to see most fertility specialists in Ontario? If you are referred to a fertility specialist by your family doctor then the consultation will likely be covered by OHIP. If you prefer to go directly to afertility clinic without referral, you will likely be responsible for payment of the consultation fee. Even without referral, many tests may be covered by OHIP.

Ask questions of your health professionals, becase knowledge is power.

Family Day

The next statutory holiday in Ontario is family day 2012. Stores will be closed, as will be many ‘children’s activities, play centres, museums, and so on. If it’s family day, why can’t I take my family to those places which will be closed? Are there other activites that people can recommend which we can do on Family Day?

I know I’ve raise the issue before, but shouldn’t we discuss funding for IVF in Ontario

The research is clear, economically it makes sense, what gives, why can’t we at least talk about it?

— IVF should be limited to 3 embryos at any age: study – Parentcentral.ca: http://bit.ly/xRsSRQ —

There are many jurisdictions that provide clear evidence, if we funds IVF or other ART, the instances of multiple births is greatly reduced, leading to a reduced drain on the health care system. Let’s discuss this!

Back in full swing

Total Wellness Centre (www.totalwellnesscentre.ca) is back in full swing today. All clinics are open for the new year, all practitioners are back helping their patients (except Dr. Ling, who is on maternity leave, but returning soon to help her patients, we can’t wait!).

For those wish insurance coverage, a new year usually means health insurance coverage benefits have been reset. We always provide official receipts for treatments so that submissions to your insurer are easier.

Give our central booking line a call at 416-532-9094. We can schedule any type of appointment for any of our four clinic locations at this phone number. We can also schedule off site appointments by calling this number as well.

One Day Cold Snap in Toronto – Bad For Your Fertility!

The temperature tonight in Toronto is set to drop to -16C, with the wind it will apparently feel more like -27C (not sure how they can be sure of that!). Tomorrow’s high is supposed to be only -12C. If that’s not bad enough, the temperature on Wednesday and Thursday will be 0C. That’s quite a swing. Not only is it hard on your body but it is hard on your fertility also. Take extra care keeping warm. Perhaps have a warm soup for lunch or supper. Try a warm water bottle in the bed before getting in. Your body will thank you, and so will your reproductive system!

End of Holiday Season

We’ve just about made it through the holiday season. For those of you with children in the TDSB, you all know the kids are off until January 9th this year for some odd reason. But for most of us, back to work in a day, back to concentrating on our lives, and reaching those goals.

Just a reminder, healthy living is a lifestyle decision. It is not a single change, but the cumulative effects of multiple small changes. In my opinion, the most worthy New Year’s resolution is to start making small changes towards healthy living, changes you can stick with.

Welcome to 2012!
